Our Sustainable Energy Consortium (SEC) has been recognised as a breakthrough in clean energy procurement, providing organisations with credible, traceable renewable electricity without the complexity and cost of a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA).
The Reuters Global Sustainability Awards recognise organisations proving that sustainability delivers measurable business value through innovation, resilience and real-world impact.
With more than 750 submissions across nine categories, reaching the finalist stage is a significant achievement.
About SEC
SEC is transforming clean energy procurement by making high-integrity UK renewable electricity accessible to organisations of all sizes.
The unique “many-to-many” consortium model connects independent UK wind, solar and
hydro generators with multiple energy users through a single transparent procurement framework.
It bridges the gap between conventional green tariffs and complex CPPAs, delivering the credibility of a CPPA with the simplicity and affordability of a standard energy supply contract.

Since launching in April 2023, SEC has grown rapidly:
- 114 renewable electricity generators across wind, solar and hydropower
- 120 participating organisations, including Itsu, Mint Velvet and Inspire Education Group
- 613 GWh contracted between November 2022 and October 2026 – enough to power approximately 188,000 homes for a year
SEC also provides traceable renewable electricity from identifiable UK generation assets, supporting half-hourly matching between renewable generation and consumption, and reducing exposure to wholesale market volatility through a capped-price structure.
The Reuters Global Sustainability Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony on 21 October in London.
