Sustainable Energy First shortlisted for two UK Green Business Awards

We are thrilled to share that Sustainable Energy First (SE First) has been for shortlisted two UK Green Business Awards: Consultancy of the Year and Renewable Energy Project of the Year.

Hosted by BusinessGreen, the awards celebrate organisations, projects, and campaigns driving progress towards a low-carbon economy in the UK. The awards cover 30 categories across the green economy, from renewables and energy efficiency through to marketing campaigns and small businesses. This year saw hundreds of entries submitted, making it one of the most competitive events to date.

Consultancy of the Year

The Consultancy of the Year shortlisting recognises our approach to delivering business decarbonisation at unprecedented scale. Our client base accounts for approximately 11% of the UK’s business CO₂e footprint, and with that reach comes clear responsibility. We have committed to reducing emissions across our client base by 528,000 tonnes of CO₂e by 2028.

Over the past year, we have supported thousands of organisations, identifying £204 million in cost savings and 279,000 tonnes of CO₂e reduction opportunities through ESOS – transforming compliance into meaningful commercial and environmental value. At the same time, we are accelerating long-term transition through science-aligned Net Zero strategies and our market-disrupting Sustainable Energy Consortium (SEC). SEC enables organisations to access traceable renewable energy while reducing exposure to wholesale market volatility, while also supporting the development of new UK-based renewable generation. The model has continued to gain momentum, with growing adoption across both private and public sector organisations.

Leading the change

The Renewable Energy Project of the Year shortlisting recognises Sustainable Energy First’s role in delivering one of the UK’s largest multi-site healthcare solar programmes in partnership with Spire Healthcare and installation partner eEnergy.

The programme has delivered increased solar PV capacity across over dozens of hospitals nationwide. The installations are helping Spire Healthcare reduce operational emissions, strengthen long-term energy resilience and lower energy costs across its estate.

“We once again had hundreds of entries to the UK Green Business Awards, making the judging process more competitive than ever,” said James Murray, Editor-in-Chief at BusinessGreen.

“The quality and breadth of the entries across every category is testament to the burgeoning strength and ever-growing importance of the green economy.”

The UK Green Business Awards winners will be announced on 24 June.
